Iron On Patch Instructions
Thank you for your order! Here's how to apply your BMS Handmade iron on patches!
Attaching with a Heat Press:
-
Set Up the Heat Press:
- Preheat your heat press to 300°F (150°C).
- Place the patch on your desired location on the fabric.
-
Protect the Patch:
- Place a Teflon sheet over the front side of the patch to protect it from direct heat.
-
Press the Patch:
- Remove the paper backing from the patch.
- Lower the heat press and apply pressure for 15 seconds.
- Ensure even pressure over the entire patch.
-
Cool Down:
- Once done, carefully lift the press and allow the patch to cool down for a few seconds.
- Check if the patch is securely attached. If not, repeat the process.
Attaching with a Household Iron:
-
Prepare the Iron:
- Set your household iron to the wool setting (300°F / 150°C).
- Make sure the steam function is turned off.
-
Position the Patch:
- Remove the paper backing from the patch.
- Place the patch on the desired location on your fabric.
-
Protect the Patch:
- Turn the fabric inside out so you can press from the backside.
- Alternatively, place a thin cloth or pressing cloth over the front of the patch to protect it from direct contact with the iron.
-
Apply Heat:
- Press the iron firmly over the backside of the fabric (where the patch is placed) for 15 seconds.
- Do not move the iron around; hold it in place for even pressure.
-
Cool Down:
- Allow the fabric to cool down for a few seconds.
- Check the patch to ensure it is securely attached. If not, repeat the process.
Tips:
- For extra security, you can sew around the edges of the patch after ironing it on.
- Always test on a small, inconspicuous area of the fabric first to ensure the temperature and pressure are suitable.
By following these steps, your iron-on patch should be securely attached to your fabric, ready to wear or display!
